HDS Truck Driving Institute offers several different programs, depending on your needs. We have day, evening, and weekend classes. We also offer training by the hour and Third Party CDL Testing.

Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Financial Aid programs provide assistance to students whose financial resources are insufficient to meet the full cost of their education and who wish to finance part of their education with student loans.

Applicants are encouraged to investigate other aid sources such as Veteran's Assistance, Vocational Rehabilitation, JTPA, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Tucson Urban League.

Many truck companies reimburse the cost of training. Let us help you qualify for this important investment in your future.

Professional Truck Driving Program
Our Professional Truck Driving Program is an in-depth program which addresses not only the body of knowledge a driver needs to know and understand, but teaches the procedures that, with practice, will enable the student to become an entry-level commercial truck driver. Safety practices are emphasized throughout the program.

CDL Training Program
Our CDL Training Program is designed to prepare the student to become an entry-level commercial truck driver. This program is 160 hours and can be completed in four weeks. This program was designed to meet the needs of the majority of companies across the country. It is the basic foundation of our truck driving programs and meets the needs for many companies and for many students to get started in the trucking industry.

Refresher courses and road testing are also available and can be tailored to your individual needs. In addition to our nationally recognized truck driver training, we also offer bus training.

In addition to the Arizona Commercial Driver License Manual and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, we also use the nationally recognized textbook, Bumper to Bumper, The Complete Guide to Tractor-Trailer Operations. On the acknowledgement page of the textbook, you will find a reference to HDS Truck Driving Institute, as our Director of Education worked with Mike Byrnes and associates in preparing the book. You will find a link to our school on their website.
