Our School

Since our beginning in 1991, HDS Truck Driving Institute has been the premier truck driver training site in southern Arizona.

We train hundreds of students each year and our graduates are working for many of the nation's top over-the-road carriers as well as regional and local companies. Our friendly staff provides excellent, lifetime placement assistance to our graduates.

HDS Truck Driving Institute is licensed by the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division and accredited by ACCSC (Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges).

In addition, we are a training provider for the Pima County One-Stop Center, Arizona Workforce Investment Act, Department of Economic Security, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and the Arizona Department of Education.

We are members of the Tucson Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. Our professional affiliations include: American Trucking Association (ATA), Arizona Motor Transport Association, Arizona Motor Transport Association Safety Council, ATA Safety Management Council, National Safety Council, Commercial Vehicle Training Association, and Driver Employer Council of America.

Our Staff

HDS Truck Driving Institute employs only experienced drivers as instructors. These instructors receive training in various teaching techniques to ensure that the hundreds of students we train each year are provided with a first-rate education.

Our instructors are licensed by the Arizona Department of Transportation and several of them have been certified as Third Party CDL Examiners. This helps ensure that our training meets or exceeds government mandated requirements.

Most of our instructors have been with us for more than five years. We are always growing and have over a dozen employees in the school. Together they have driven over 10 million miles, have over 100 years of driving experience and over 100 years of teaching experience!

Our office staff is at your service to make sure that you receive all of the information you need to make an informed choice about your future. Upon graduation, we will assist you in finding employment.
